Craig Soubieski had an expansive career in precision engineering for over 30 years. Starting with PDQ Precision in the 1990s, Craig began a long and incredibly close working relationship with David Kimber which would see immense success for over three decades. Craig always fancied himself the better machinist, but whether or not that is true, he was always the first to recognise he needed Dave as his colleague and business partner. After selling PDQ in 2006 Craig took a senior position at Huttons Engineering where he would meet Karim Sekkat. Craig was vocal to those around him about his appreciation for Karim’s management style and understanding of the sector, meaning when Craig and David would create Scientific Manufacturing Solution together Karim’s inclusion into the partnership retrospectively seems inevitable. Craig always thrived developing business relationships with others and his pride in those he called clients was clear to all.

It is nothing short of a tragedy that Craig passed away on the 9th February 2025 at the age of 59. To write about him in the past tense is anything but easy. Nevertheless it equally does not feel right to say Craig “left us behind”, for instead in his passing he is survived by two children he completed doted on, the laughter of his friends at his criminally immature antics, and a thriving business poised to take on the challenges of an ever dynamic and versatile industry. We miss you Craig.
